Pi Rat Records started in 2017 releasing recordings of the popular weekly pirate radio show titled “My Radio Santa Cruz” (MRSC). Releases were available in compact disc or flashdrive format and were not for sale… only available by scavenger hunt at local Santa Cruz record stores and the San Jose Punk Rock Flea Market. Initially about 150 CDs of various MRSC shows were distributed via this method.

“My Radio Santa Cruz” ended in September 2019 and featured 80s and 90s punk, metal, rock and ska vinyl delivered the old-fashioned way by an anonymous radio personality known only as “the Dude.” The show is now defunct but the legend lives on through the Pi Rat Records catalog of music.
